Hattie and Joe Craven - This is a performance of rearranged pop songs for the folk tradition spanning the last 100 years with stunning 15 year old vocalist Hattie Craven supported by her father, award winning multi-instrumentalist Joe Craven. Their father/daughter team has created a celebration of music making by finding common ground between generations with differing musical tastes and sensibilities. This show awakens new possibilities in music making as a 60 year old and 16 year old each bring their influences to a musical table.
Audiences step back in time with an authentic vaudeville style cowboy show in the Will Rogers tradition. Sourdough Slim is a veritable "one man Western extravaganza", crooning Western classics, playing accordion, guitar and harmonica, dancing a jig, dishing out hilarious comedic sketches and letting loose with award winning yippie-ti-yi-yodeling. A favorite entertainer at cowboy gatherings and county fairs around the country, he's also played the big time, wowing audiences at venues including Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center. A rollicking good time for audiences of all ages.
Rooted in the traditional music of the seven Celtic nations (Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, The Isle of Man, French Brittany and Spanish Galicia), Golden Bough has become a popular and in-demand group on both sides of the Atlantic. Since their formation in 1980, this trio of modern day minstrels has traveled great distances to numerous countries, to bring their music to enthusiastic folk fans the world over. Backing themselves on an array of acoustic instruments; Celtic harp, guitar, octave-mandolin, mandolin, accordion, violin, penny-whistle and bodhran, they blend their voices in the pristine harmonies that have become a Golden Bough trademark. To date they have released over 30 recordings. In the recording studio, as well as on stage, Golden Bough captures the essence and joy of traditional music.

Based out of California’s Central Sierra, The band Three to Get are Tim McCaffrey, the primary songwriter, guitarist and singer for the Little Fuller Band, Alec LaRoche the upright bass monster from The Harmed Brothers, Sons of Jefferson (lead by Jeff Coleman), as well as the bluegrass/roots favorite the Mountain Men and Kevin Burkling, the tasty yet hard-hitting drummer who rhythm-sectioned for bands that supported The Mother Hips, Taj Mahal, Devil Makes Three and The Doobie Brothers. Together they form a culmination of collaborative songwriting mixed with stylistic backgrounds ranging from 70s/80s punk rock music to Americana roots music, bluegrass, funk and jazz. Their unique sound combines these familiar genres and spits out a new California Rock and Roll. Lyrical writing to bring you in, yet hard hitting, solid music to knock you back. They are the Three To Get!

Way out West - Friday

"String and percussion wizard Joe Craven, singer and strummer Tracy Walton and guitar-tickling wordsmith Bill Edwards are back together. The dynamic trio that was Way Out West from 1985-1992 will be making a very, rare appearance to help draw a close to the Fire On The Mountain Sonora Christmas Craft Festival's - final event - celebrating 45 years! Way Out West was a favorite act at the Fair for years in the 80s and early 90s.
Way Out West is a highly original Americana Roots Music Trio that was born out of a multi-culti mashup up of re-imaged covers, sparkling originals, a pinch of theatrically thrift stored / fashion insulted presentations and a small bucket of bargain bin humor. A popular attraction from the mid-80s to early 90s in the great north-central valley of NorCal, they have now (under a self-perception of extreme pressure from the general public--and inspiration from Frank Sinatra) dusted off their now tighter-fitting WOW wardrobe for the 45th & Final Sonora Christmas Craft Fair. Once again in the saddle are the still vertical and ventilating Tracy Walton (Mumbo Gumbo / The Cups / Walton, Webster and Edwards) Bill Edwards (Walton, Webster and Edwards) and Joe Craven (David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Alison Brown, David Lindley, Joe Craven & The Sometimers just to name a few). Take a trip down memory lane or experience them, at your own risk, for the first time. Chances are very good that you and your friends will enjoy yourselves immensely." ~ Joe Craven
